Application
The ALMEMO® current clamps FE A604 for alternating currents are perfectly suitable for
the maintenance and supervision of electric systems without interrupting their current
supply.
Measuring principle
Current clamps for alternating currents consist of primary and a secondary
winding and a closed magnetic circle. In contrast to firmly installed panel-mounted
converters the current clamps have a cut-opened magnetic circles in order to encircle a
lead. In praxis just one lead clamps have a cut-opened magnetic circle in order to
encircle a lead. In praxis just one lead is encircled and a magnetic field arises which is
exlcusively determined by the primary current that flows through the primary coil. Now, in
the secondary coil there is induced a current by the existing magnetic flux which flows
through the connected load (e.g. multi-measuring instrument with alternating-current
range).
