Fiber Optics
Digital data transmission using of fiber optics has some important advantages compared to wire-based transmission. The wiring is not influenced by electromagnetic interference. That means, even in industrial surroundings with electromagnetic noise, safe data transmission is possible. By means of absolute galvanic seperation between the instruments even higher potential differences can be bypassed. Even a high-voltage protection is ensured to a large extent.
