| Oxygen-sensor for O2-measurements
in liquids The amperometric
oxygen-sensor with integrated NTC temperature sensor is used for measuring the soluted
oxygen in liquids. The amount of soluted oxygen depends on the medium temperature and the
actual atmospheric pressure.
The sensor consists of a 2-electrode measuring cell acc. to Clark with an operational
electrode and a counter electrode. Both electrodes are in an electrolyte system, which is
separated from the probe by a gas-permeable membrane. The working electrode reduces the
oxygen-molecule to hydroxide-ions. During this electrochemical reaction there is a current
from the counter electrode to the operational electrode, which is a measure for the
oxygen-concentration within the solution to be measured.
