The ALMEMOŽ System enables networked set up of measuring instruments for sophisticated measurement tasks:

• Connection of network controllers (PC) with RS232-interface.
• Installation of measuring instruments in different rooms.
• Bridging larger distances up to 1 km.
• Realizing network branches.
• Connection of measuring instruments with RS485-interface.
• Interface conversion from RS232 to RS422 and vice versa.

Decentralized data acquisition can be realized rigorously by using ALMEMOŽ-instruments. Measurement can be carried out on-site with short cabling for the sensor and small modular measuring instruments. These can be digitally networked and centrally controlled by means of a computer. This will minimize the expenditure for cabling and optimize the electromagnetic compatibiliy. In this way the equipment can be adapted to the particular measuring task as needed.

All ALMEMOŽ-instruments are addressable, use the same transmission protocol and can be completely networked. By means of a small, built-in distributor they can be immediately connected one after the other using pre-assembled network cables. In this way up to 100 instruments can be connected to the serial interface of a computer.

For installations bridging larger distances, data transmission with RS422-interface or RS485-bus is preferable. In disturbed surroundings, also fiber optics cables can be used alternatively. For every instrument special drivers and galvanically separated branch boxes are available.

Instead of a complex 7-layer-model, the protocol is based on a simple ASCII-communication for transferring data in plain text from the instrument via any terminal. Software packages for automizing measuring point scanning within the network and for displaying and evaluating measurement data are available.

Before network operation all measuring instruments have to be set to a different address. Using instruments with display and function keys, the address can be entered manually. Transmitters and plug-in units have a special coding switch for that. The instruments can be addressed in any order, but without gaps.

The ALMEMOŽ-system offers enormous possibilities of networked data acquisition and different possibilities of data transmission.
