pH and Redox Probes
The pH-value is a logarithmic measure for the concentration of the H-ions in an aqueous solution and so describes in numerical values whether it has an acid, neutral or alkaline reaction. The pH-scale ranges from pH 0 to pH 14, pH 7 is neutral. The level of the Redox-potential is measured in mV and indicates the extent of the oxidizing or reducing effect of a solution. When measuring the pH-value and the Redox-potential the chain-voltage between two electrodes is determined by potentiometric measurement.

For all common pH- and Redox-electrodes with plug pins SN6 and screwing PG 13,5 the ALMEMO® connecting cable is suitable. In the screwable head it contains a measuring amplifier. By this, cable lines with a length of up to 100 m are permissible between electrodes and display unit. This is extremely important for arrangements regarding the measured value monitoring. The alignment of the electrodes is extremely easy and effected automatically by push of a button.
